Carolyn trained as a Chartered Accountant with PwC working out of the London office for clients such as Tate & Lyle Sugars, Le Creuset, and The Princes Youth Business Trust.  After qualification, Carolyn spent 4 years working for Gillette initially as a project accountant and then heading up the UK treasury & credit control teams.  This time gave her invaluable hands-on experience of both systems and how a business works in the real world.

Understanding that small businesses are in need of high-quality tax advice, Carolyn extended her technical expertise and qualified as a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in 2012.

Carolyn’s decision to set up her own accountancy practise was driven by the desire to balance her professional goals and personal commitments – namely caring for her young 3 children.  Over the last 10 years, Carolyn has developed a business model that promotes person-led, flexible working and this ethos is mirrored by Composure’s approach when working with clients – people always come first.

Carolyn is currently fulfilling a childhood dream by learning to play the piano with the support of her very patient teacher, Annie.  At the weekend, you will most likely find her next to a sports pitch or driving to one, as her sons are keen rugby and hockey players.
