Following the completion of an Accounting and Finance Degree from Plymouth University Nicki joined a two-partner firm based in her home town of Chichester. While there, she trained as a Chartered Accountant and at the same time worked on many small business’s accounts. Nicki had the benefit of training with a small firm of accountants and this enabled her to gain experience across a wide range of client services from audit to accounts preparation and from company tax returns to personal tax returns.
Following qualification in 1995, Nicki wanted to gain experience with a larger company and so went to work for Legal & General in Leatherhead. In the 20 years that Nicki worked for Legal & General, she experienced a range of different jobs. Her roles included Project Account for the then owned Legal & General Bank, Financial Controller for the Insurance business, Group Accountant producing the statutory accounts for the Plc and Finance Director for their Shared Services business area. As a result, Nicki gained a wealth of experience across widely varying areas of a large multi-corporate business.
In 2016, Nicki left Legal & General to have a baby and spent the next couple of years on maternity leave. She used that time wisely to study the latest tax rules with the intention of starting her own practice. Shortly after launching her business in January 2019, a mutual friend introduced Nicki and Carolyn. Within days, Nicki was working for Composure and has never looked back!
In her spare time, Nicki enjoys spending time with her husband and son. Most weekends you are likely to spot them out mountain biking up the Downs Link!
